Testing event-driven systems requires simulating real-world conditions. I write unit tests for business logic and integration tests for event flows. Chaos engineering experiments verify resilience under failure scenarios.

Common pitfalls include ignoring message ordering requirements or underestimating storage needs for event streams. I address these by designing with idempotency in mind and planning capacity based on expected throughput.

Building these systems has taught me that simplicity and clarity win over complexity. Every component serves a clear purpose, and failures are handled gracefully. The result is a system that scales with demand and recovers from errors without manual intervention.
